As I was reading my novel, I noticed that the time period wasnt too long ago. the time period is between September and October of 2001. I know this because, the novel is based on the attack on 9/11 and the novel takes place a few days before the attack happened and there have been flashbacks on what the characters have felt before this and after this. The pictures in this novel help me to know the time period because in some of them there are captions of what the date is and what time it is. There are also some pictures that have day and night in them. 

Most of the main characters are expected to show a lot of emotion because of what just happened. most of them only show disappointment. But then some of them also show anger, cries, suffering, and sorrow. but most of the characters who do at least show their emotion, have had some kind of pain like this in the past and they have experienced the pain before. 

The author of this novel didnt choose the time period it is based on a true event that happened in 2001. if the author did choose the time period, then it might have changed what had happened and how it happened. also the time period could have changed where it took place and who was responsible for it. 

The setting of this novel is real. this event really happened and it is a true story. some of the people might have said different things but they were still part of what happened. I dont really know why the author chose to create a graphic novel on the tragedy of 9/11. Maybe he wanted people to know what it was really like when that happened and to show what other people felt as it was happening and as they were being notified that someone in their family was involved in the accident. if he chose to recreate a different story then the whole thing would be different, or he could have recreated the same story just in a different place or a different theme.
